Brexit news LIVE: Chancellor Philip Hammond says no deal would shrink economy and spark disruption

Chancellor Philip Hammond has delivered a dire warning over the risks of a no deal Brexit at the Davos Summit.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Mr Hammond said no deal would shrink the economy and spark "significant" disruption.

Meanwhile, Mr Hammond refused to rule out resigning if no deal happened. It followed work and pensions secretary Amber Rudd's hints that she would quit if the government crashed out of the EU without an agreement.

Mr Hammond's warnings came after French president Emmanuel Macron launched a blistering attack on Brexit, saying "it has “torn British society apart” and that it “can’t be delivered”.
