Theresa May is to set out her latest Brexit plans in a desperate attempt to overturn last week's humiliating Commons defeat.

The Prime Minister will speak before the House on Monday, explaining how she intends to proceed and achieve a majority for her much-maligned Withdrawal Agreement.

Mrs May will also hold further talks with MPs, business leaders and trade unionists in order to find a way forward.

Reports have suggested she will focus on winning over Tory Brexiteers and the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) by pressing for changes on the Northern Ireland backstop.

There are reports she could fly out to Brussels for talks as early as this evening.
