Prime Minister Theresa May and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said they had a "constructive" dinner meeting in Brussels today.
The pair plan to meet again before the end of the month to discuss Brexit negotiations, a statement said.
But there was no mention of changes to Mrs May's controversial withdrawal agreement on Wednesday.
The talks come after a dramatic day in Westminster that saw three Tory MPs become the latest politicians to defect to the new Independent Group.
