The Prime Minister has responded to his brother's shock resignation and renewed calls for a general election in his latest speech.
Speaking in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Boris Johnson praised his younger brother Jo as a "fantastic guy" but admitted they had "differences" over their approach to the EU.
Jo Johnson said in a tweet on Thursday that in recent weeks he has "been torn between family loyalty and the national interest".
The PM said he would "rather be dead in a ditch" than ask the EU for a further delay to Brexit, adding that didn't want a general election but it was the only way forward.
His speech came after Leader of the House Jacob Rees-Mogg announced that the government will put forward a new motion for an early general election on Monday.
Meanwhile, a bill designed to prevent a no-deal Brexit in October has cleared another major hurdle after the government said it would complete its passage through the House of Lords on Friday.
