A musical comedy which pokes fun at the current Brexit situation is coming to Leeds this summer.
Boris the Musical 2: Brexit Harder has been lined up for a night at the Carriageworks Theatre in June, with the storyline taking a satirical look at PM candidate Boris Johnson.
The 90-minute musical from Sheffield-based Blowfish Theatre will explore Boris' childhood at Eton, his time as a European correspondent, the EU referendum and even a glimpse at what the UK could look like post-Brexit.
It comes off the back of the 2016 tour of Boris the Musical and the subsequent Trump the Musical, but it's not just Boris who bears the brunt of the jokes this time. Jibes will also directed towards outgoing Prime Minster Theresa May and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
The creators say there are sections on Grime4Corbyn, Jacob Rees-Mogg slut dropping for a 'hard' Brexit, and Michael Gove as the badger-slaughtering Environment Secretary.
Writer Laurence Peacock said: "It's getting silly now. So squeezing the Deal, Tory party coups, Labour’s EU ambivalence, and Boris’ ambitions into 90 satirical minutes has been tricky. But we did it. And with synth pop and death metal too."
