Brexit march: Best signs from the Put It To The People protest

Thousands of people have hit the streets of London to join the Put It To The People march to demand a Final Say on the Brexit process.

Taking place six days before the UK was originally due to leave the European Union, the protest was organised in partnership with The Independent’s Final Say campaign.

With leading politicians including Caroline Lucas, David Lammy and Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable in attendance, this march could mark the nation’s last opportunity to demand a Final Say on Brexit.

Many are using the protest to express their sentiments towards Brexit, displaying a variety of witty, facetious and impactful signs as they walk from Park Lane in the City of Westminster towards Parliament Square.

A similar Final Say march took place in October last year, attracting crowds of almost 700,000.

The Independent’s petition calling on Prime Minister Theresa May to give the nation a Final Say on Brexit has accumulated more than 1.2 million signatures."Regardless of how you voted in the Brexit referendum, you deserve a say on the final deal,” says Christian Broughton, editor of The Independent.

Earlier in the day, an online petition calling on the government to revoke Article 50 and cancel Brexit recently became the most popular petition ever submitted to the Parliament website.

The petition, started in late February, currently has more than 4.1 million signatures.
