Theresa May suffered a fresh defeat on her Brexit strategy in the Commons this evening after the European Research Group refused to back the Government's motion in a key Commons vote.
Eurosceptic Conservatives said there was a "collective decision" by the group to abstain on the main Brexit motion if it was unamended.
MPs voted by 303 to 258 against the motion endorsing the Government's approach.
The latest showdown comes as European Council president Donald Tusk expressed frustration at a lack of progress in London.
