MPs have voted through Boris Johnson's Brexit bill after he brought it back to the House of Commons following his landslide election victory.
The European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill was approved on Friday afternoon by 358 votes to 234, a majority of 124.
The Bill is now expected to complete its remaining legal stages in both Houses of Parliament and be given Royal Assent in the New Year. This would pave the way for the UK to leave the EU by the promised January 31 deadline.
The Prime Minister earlier hailed a “new dawn” for Britain as he vowed to “finish what we started” by passing the Withdrawal Agreement before delivering Brexit in the New Year.
