Only seven per cent of people who voted for Ukip in the 2015 general election also voted to remain in the European Union, a YouGov poll shows.
People who voted for the party are the most Eurosceptic by far, with 93 per cent saying they voted to leave the EU when polled on voting day.
Conservative voters are the second most Eursoceptic, but fall far behind Ukip, with 43 per cent of those who voted Conservative in the general election voting for Brexit.
In response to Brexit predictions on referendum day, Ukip party leader Nigel Farage said leaving the EU would be “a victory for real people, a victory for ordinary people, a victory for decent people”.
A total of 72.2 per cent of Britons voted in the historic referendum on 23 June, the highest turnout since 1992, with 51.9 per cent voting to leave the European Union.
