Brewery offers punters 50% extra beer for free if they stay loyal

A brewery is offering punters 50% extra beer for free if they stay loyal during the coronavirus pandemic.

Pubs and breweries across the UK have been hit hard by forced closures due to the virus.

But one brewery has come up with a clever way of keeping new customers when the hospitality industry reopens.

Ascot Brewing Company is rewarding its customers by giving them £1.50 in beer vouchers for every £1 they spend.

The offer, which started on June 3rd, will run for a maximum of 30 days but could end early if they meet their sales targets.

The brewery is planning on launching a pop-up pub (Ascot Brewing)

Customers will then be able to spend the voucher after July 4 when pubs in England are expected to reopen.

Owner Chris Davies, who has run the brewery in Camberley, Surrey, for three years, said he came up with the idea because "everyone's going through tough times right now".

He said: "Pubs across the country have shut and so we've had to help ourselves and our customers in our own way so that they can still enjoy drinking our beer.

"We want to reward customer loyalty in these difficult times."

Chris and his staff have been busy preparing for today's expected announcement by the government that pubs will be able to reopen on July 4.

The brewery will launch a pop-up pub in the car park aptly named 'The Socially Distanced'.

Strict measures will be in place to protect customers and staff including timed drinking slots, contactless payment and tables that are socially distanced.

Customers will also use an app to order their drinks which will be delivered in plastic cups by staff who will be wearing PPE equipment.

Each table will have a bin for empty cups to be disposed of safely and there will be hand sanitiser stations and two metre markings on the floor.

Chris added: "We have gone as far as we can with guessing what the government is going to want us to do.

"There are too many jobs on the line so we've had to push on and prepare as best we can.

"When the starting gate opens we look forward to welcoming back our old and new customers."
