Brewers pitcher Adrian Houser pukes on the mound, rallies for 10k-performance

Brewers pitcher Adrian Houser’s start on Saturday was eventful. In a matter of hours, he recorded an error and quickly threw up, only to recover with six innings of excellence. He finished the game with 10 strikeouts, three hits allowed and one earned run to go with his one bout of illness. (It’s notable that he only had one instance of sickness on Saturday, because in the past, he had multiple bouts in one game.)

If you’re strong in the stomach — unlike Houser, apparently — you can check out the moment of sickness by clicking here. In a relatively funny moment, however, the grounds grew arrived with a watering can to help clean up Houser’s sick.

For those uninterested in seeing Houser puke, you can instead watch him hurl (baseballs) for 10 strikeouts.

He addressed reporters after the game, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“The guys made some great plays behind me,” Houser said. “It feels really good. My main goal was to go as long as I could and try to give the bullpen a break. They’ve been really working hard the last couple of weeks. I think tonight was a good step in the right direction.

“(Starting) is something I’ve always done, and I feel it’s where I belong. Like I’ve always said, I’m in the big leagues, so (relief is) where I’ll pitch if that’s where they see me. But I feel like I belong (as a starter).

“The ups and downs are part of it, part of baseball. Once you put it all together and you start getting results, it’s really nice.”

It’s impressive that Houser’s game only went up when his stomach settled down.
