BrewDog urges customers to make their own beer under six-point sustainability blueprint

BrewDog has unveiled a six-point plan to reduce the carbon footprint if the company and its customers.

The Ellon-based brewer will even encourage fans to save on delivery miles by making their own beer with BrewDog's recipes.

The BrewDog Tomorrow blueprint is:

Cans for equity - Anyone who trades in 50 empty beer cans will become a BrewDog Equity Punk, turning waste into equity.

Upcycling cans - BTo keep cans out of landfill, BrewDog says it will upcycle them by refilling old cans from any brand.

Once beer vodka – Instead of wasting beer that fails to meet BrewDog quality standards, the firm will distil it and turn it into vodka.

DIY Dog – BrewDog is to encourage a revolution by encouraging everyone to “brew their own goddamn beer” with DIY Dog brewkits.

BrewDog freehouse – The company will continue to share its intellectual property, having first revealed its beer recipes in 2016.

Tomorrow Fund – This will invest an extra £1 million a year to support research and initiatives that help the brewing industry to have a positive impact on the world and charitable initiatives chosen by staff and shareholders.

James Watt, BrewDog co-founder, said: “It’s been a crazy journey so far. We’ve made it here by shaking up brewing and crafting a community owned business that is 100% powered by people. This marks a new dawn, welcome to the new BrewDog.”
