Scottish-based brewery and pub chain Brewdog has teamed up with online learning provider The Skills Network, to create its first online learning academy for its workforce.
BrewDog, based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, is partnering with the learning provider which has previously worked with the likes of Thomson Reuters and the NHS.
It will develop the ‘BrewDog Academy’ to host online courses for employees to access and gain national qualifications.
The fully funded courses will be available to those on furlough who wish to use their extra time to increase their skills.
The partnership will provide BrewDog employees with free access to nearly 30 nationally recognised Level 1 and 2 courses across a range of sectors and industries, ranging from an award in ‘mental health awareness’ to a 'team leader supervisor’ certificate.
As part of the scheme, BrewDog has also launched an apprenticeship programme training 30 of its current employees in leadership skills.
Rachel George, head of apprenticeships at The Skills Network, said: “By offering access to a wide range of free courses, expert tutors, and a dedicated company platform, we can help support hundreds of adults to upskill and gain new qualifications at the same time.
