BrewDog pokes fun at Dominic Cummings with eye-test beer launch

BrewDog is launching a beer that pokes fun at the Dominic Cummings lockdown scandal.

Its New England Old School IPA will come in a can designed like an optician's eye test board, with the words: "Barnard Castle eye test hazy."

The joke refers to the claim by Boris Johnston's senior adviser that he drove to the castle near Durham to test his eyesight before attempting to drive back to London after suffering from Covid-19.

Profits from the ale will go towards making BrewDog's hand sanitiser being donated to the NHS & Health Care Charities.

The Ellon-based brewer said "Short sighted beer for tall stories. Our New England, Old School IPA is locked down and loaded. Dry-hopped for a juicy hit with pineapple, mango and hint of zesty lime.

"All profits will go to funding our production of free sanitiser for the NHS & Health Care Charities. 12 x 330ml can available now for pre-order - product will be available within 2 weeks."
