Brewdog hope to open Edinburgh hotel with beer taps and shower fridges

Brewdog have stated they are considering opening a brand new hotel in Edinburgh.

The popular Scottish brewer already has hotels in Aberdeen and Manchester, but is yet to open a site in the capital. However, new comments by Chief Executive James Watt has lead customers to believe an Edinburgh venue may be on the way soon.

Last week, on Twitter, boss James Watt said: “Working on a potential BrewDog beer hotel location in Edinburgh today. It would be great to open a beer hotel in the capital of our home country. Watch this space.”

Brewdog already has a number of bars in Edinburgh, all of which have proved popular with customers during the pandemic thanks to their takeaway pints.

However, fans of the beer are keen to see a new hotel open in the city, which could include features such as an in-hotel bar, beer taps in the rooms and even beer fridges in the shower.

It comes as the brand recently launched their idea for a carbon-negative beer club, which will be the first of its kind according to the company.

With guest brewers featured each month, members will have a monthly subscription and receive eight cans which will all be brewed in Aberdeen.

With plans also underway to open a hotel in London, it doesn't seem like it will be long until Edinburgh will also have one of their own.
