Brewdog helps spread some cheer by offering free beer when lockdown ends

Newcastle favourite Brewdog has made a promise guaranteed to raise a few cheers among people in lockdown as it tells them it will be treating everyone to a free pint once it's all over.

The craft beer specialist - whose city centre branch in Dean Street already has been displaying a positive message in its window during the closure telling customers it will 'see you on the other side' - is now spreading some good news driven by the power of beer.

In an announcement set to have ale-lovers queueing at its door when the big day comes, it said: "Good beer has always brought people together through the best of times and the worst.

"Soon, beer is going to do that again. And when that day comes, when all of this is over, we are going to buy everyone a beer."

And Brewdog, which also has been running virtual pub get-togethers during lockdown with beer chat, music and quizzes, urged customers to stay home and stay safe until then.

To claim the promised freebie pint, all people need to to do is to register their name online with an email address where Brewdog can send a voucher code for a free beer once it knows its reopening date.

For those who can't wait, the brewer and pub chain is also doing deliveries throughout the coronavirus crisis.

Customers can pick from a reduced range of 'beer bundles', which include the likes of top seller Punk IPA and variety packs, with an offer of free delivery available on bundles of 48 beers. See here.
