BrewDog founder to headline StartUp Summit

BrewDog founder James Watt will be interviewed by Scottish entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter in the headline spot at the Scottish StartUp Summit.

The event which is being run online this year is predicted to attract up to 1,000 business people to hear and see a range of leading business speakers.

Other speakers include Amali de Alwis, the managing director of Microsoft for Startups, at the event which runs on October 28 and 29.

Mr Watt said: “I have long admired Sir Tom as a businessman and philanthropist, we share the same view that business should be a force for good so am looking forward to discussing what startups can do to make a positive impact on our planet together.”

Sir Tom, the entrepreneur turned philanthropist who runs The Hunter Foundation, said: “Startup Summit is a fantastic learning opportunity at a time when we really need to drive new businesses forward; our economy will sink or swim dependent on our ability to drive growth by fostering more startups and scaleups.

“James Watt typifies the brilliant nature of entrepreneurs who always pivot; jump over hurdles and grow massively whilst caring for their people and our planet. His chat will be, as ever, inspirational.”
