Brett Favre ranks 26th on all-time top-100 list

Our friends over at USA TODAY Sports are putting together their top-100 list of NFL players to celebreate the league’s 100th season.

Quarterback Brett Favre ranked 26th on the list.

Favre is mostly known for his 16 seasons with the Packers, but since this is a Vikings site, let’s talk about his two seasons in purple.

He signed with the Vikings prior to the 2009 season and was that season ever magical. Favre, who was 40 years old, threw for 4,202 yards and 33 touchdowns. He led the Vikings all the way to the NFC Championship before the team lost in a controversial game to the Saints.

The 2009 season wasn’t the same. Favre showed his age, the Vikings lost key weapons around him and he threw for just 2,509 yards, 11 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

You’d be hardpressed to find a quarterback that was as much fun to watch than Favre throughout his career. A true gunslinger who constantly made something  out of nothing.
