Brett Favre got roasted for his now-deleted Instagram post about returning to the NFL

Brett Favre is set to turn 50 years old in October. He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2010.

But leave it to an Instagram post to cause a stir about a potential NFL comeback for the Hall of Fame quarterback.

On Tuesday, an post appeared on Favre’s Instagram page to announce that he was coming out of retirement and teased more news to come. For obvious reasons — the dude is almost 50! — the news drew skepticism. The post was quickly deleted, and Favre told TMZ Sports that his account was hacked.

That ended the comeback speculation for the thrice un-retired NFL quarterback.

Still, NFL fans had plenty of jokes for the prospect of Favre’s return to the NFL (again). They didn’t hold back.

If the hacked Favre account brought the world anything, it was a good laugh. Thank you for that, NFL Twitter.
