Brentford player ratings vs West Ham: Wissa smashes in late, late winner for Bees

David Raya

Barely had anything to do in the first half, but closed his angles superbly to deny Jarrod Bowen in the second half. 7

Zanka

Deputised very well in Kristoffer Ajer's absence. After his cameo against Liverpool and today, he's showing signs of becoming a capable deputy. 6

Pontus Jansson

Another good captain's performance from the skipper. Led the backline very well, especially in the second half during a West Ham onslaught. 7

Ethan Pinnock

Made some important clearances and headers to stop the Hammers getting in behind. 7

Sergi Canos

Another good performance from the right-wing back this afternoon. A superb run and shot, which lead to Mbeumo's goal. 7

Shandon Baptiste

Was playing well and looked good on the ball, before he was unfortunately taken off with injury. 5

Christian Norgaard

Was incredible in the centre of Brentford's midfield, and looked assured even without Vitaly Janelt. Marshalled the midfield brilliantly. 7

Frank Onyeka

A late introduction having replaced Janelt in the warm-up, but the Nigerian was key in Brentford's midfield, making bursts forward and breaking down the Hammers when needed. 7

Rico Henry

Made an incredible intervention to deny Bowen a certain goal, and getting a vital touch which would have given Soucek a free hit at goal. 7

Bryan Mbeumo

Missed two good opportunities early on, but the Frenchman deservedly got on the scoresheet with a goal that just scraped over the line. Ran hard for the cause and looked lively when on the ball. 7

Ivan Toney

No goal for the striker today, but his overall game was pleasing. Made some crucial headers in his own penalty area to help his side defensively. 7

SUBS:

Mathias Jensen

Looked back to his best against the Hammers, and looked assured next to his compatriot Norgaard in midfield. 5

Mads Bidstrup

Wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty and get stuck in, which would have pleased Thomas Frank. 5

Yoane Wissa

What an introduction! The Guinea international smashed home after Fabianski initially made a save from a Bees free-kick. Wissa is really finding his feet and staking his claim for a place in the first team. 8
