Brentford looking for the perfect goodbye to 'iconic' Griffin Park

Brentford manager Thomas Frank says the Bees are desperate to find a way to say goodbye to the "old and s****y" Griffin Park before they move to their new home.

Frank's side were set to move into their new stadium for the start of next season and construction remains on schedule for them to do so, whenever the new campaign starts.

However, with games now behind closed doors for the foreseeable future, no one can be sure whether fans and staff will get the chance to say a proper goodbye to their home of 116 years.

"We are looking forward to going to the new stadium," Frank told Sky Sports.

"I think the biggest concern is actually that all our fantastic fans and the staff who have been working in the club for many, many years [would] actually like to say goodbye to Griffin Park.

"That iconic English stadium... it just smells of football there.

"It is old and it's a s****y stadium but we love it so that is going to be a little bit difficult not to say goodbye to that. That is the biggest deal."
