Brentford injury news: Bees star faces fitness check for Man Utd

Reiss Nelson will be assessed ahead of Brentford's game against Manchester United after suffering from illness.

The Arsenal loanee has yet to play for Brentford in the Premier League since arriving in west London on deadline day.

Nelson, who struggled with a hamstring injury for much of last season while on loan at Fulham, played 22 minutes as Brentford beat Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

Nelson's career has been blighted by injuries, and while Brentford hold an option to make his loan permanent next summer, they will be wary of Nelson's injury record.

Paris Maghoma, who missed a large part of pre-season, is set to be reintegrated into team training next week.

Maghoma suffered a hamstring injury before Brentford's pre-season training camp in Portugal in July.

Brazilian winger Gustavo Nunes has returned to training as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered during Brentford's pre-season game against Gil Vicente.

He will feature for Brentford B in their upcoming games to build fitness and match sharpness.

The 19-year-old endured an injury-hit debut campaign following his £10million move from Gremio, arriving at the club with a back fracture that didn't heal as the club had anticipated.

Nunes had to wait until April 2025 to make his debut for Brentford, coming on as a substitute during the Bees' 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Brentford are looking to maintain their unbeaten start at the Gtech Community Stadium when they welcome United on Saturday.

It's been a mixed start to life under Keith Andrews, with Brentford looking for a reaction after their derby defeat to Fulham last weekend.
