Brentford's move for Dango Ouattara has stalled as Bournemouth insist on signing a replacement for the winger before sanctioning a sale.
Ouattara is keen on a move to Brentford, who have held initial talks with Bournemouth.
The Cherries value Ouattara, who scored nine goals in all competitions last season, at around £40million.
Brentford's struggles to secure a deal for Ouattara, who is viewed as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, could have a bearing on the future of Yoane Wissa.
Wissa has attracted interest from Newcastle, who are weighing up a £35m bid, and is keen on a move to St James' Park as he wants to play Champions League football.
However, Brentford's failure to get a deal over the line for Ouattara would make them less inclined to sanction the departure of Wissa, who they value at £50m.
Brentford have faced similar issues in their pursuit of Omari Hutchinson, who they still hold an interest in, with Ipswich also clear they want to sign a replacement before letting the winger leave.
The Bees are also keen on Rennes forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, who registered 17 goals and three assists in Ligue 1 last season.
Rennes sporting director Loic Desire has confirmed that the club are in negotiations over Kalimuendo's departure, having previously admitted the 23-year-old was likely to leave this summer.
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season with the arrivals of both Ouattara and Kalimuendo, with both deals viewed as separate from each other.
