Brentford head coach Thomas Frank signs new contract until 2023

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has signed a new long-term deal to keep him at the club until 2023.

Frank joined the Bees coaching team in 2016 and took charge of the first team in 2018 when manager Dean Smith left for Aston Villa.

Brentford initially struggled but went on to secure a top-half finish under Frank, and have since pushed themselves into contention for promotion during his first full season in charge.

Victory over west London rivals QPR on Saturday saw third-placed Brentford close the gap to the top two to just six points, following a run of seven straight home victories.

Thomas said: “I am very pleased that the Club offered me a new contract and I was delighted to sign it. I love coming to work every single day and love working with the players and the staff here.

“There is a unique togetherness at Brentford and a unique focus on wanting to get better every day. We have a clear plan; a clear strategy and good people and we are going in the right direction. We are in a really good place and not just because of our current form on the pitch and our position in the league but because of how we are run on and off the pitch."
