Brentford boss Thomas Frank issues injury update as his side prepare for Leeds United trip

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed he has no fresh injury concerns for Sunday’s trip to Leeds United.

The Bees were defeated 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night but despite the short turnaround, Frank is not anticipating his squad to encounter any new issues ahead of the weekend.

That means defender Pontus Jansson will be available for his second reunion with his former club Leeds, who he has faced just once since leaving the club in the summer of 2019.

For their short trip across London, Brentford were without Kristoffer Ajer, David Raya, Mathias Jorgensen, Julian Jeanvier and Josh Dasilva.

However, while there are no fresh concerns ahead of their clash with Leeds, all five of their current absentees are not expected to be back in time for the trip to Elland Road.

Bees boss Frank, though, could make changes to his starting XI after the disappointment against Spurs, and to cope with the two-day shorter recovery time his side have in comparison to their opponents Leeds.

Shandon Baptiste came off the bench on Thursday and was impressive during his 34-minute cameo, while Mathias Jensen and Yoane Wissa are both also pushing to start.

They could come in for Sergi Canos, Vitaly Janelt and Frank Onyeka, who were then men to make way at Spurs.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Frank admitted that changes to his line-up are something that he is considering.

He said: "Wissa maybe but he hasn't been training with the team that many times. Shandon and Mathias are definitely close."

The two sides meet at Elland Road on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off.
