Brentford boss gives prediction that Bristol City fans will love

Thomas Frank says he thinks Bristol City will make the play-offs this season.

The Robins make the trip to Frank's Brentford side tomorrow evening after a solid start to the season that sees them sat eighth in the table.

Three draws in their last four games has proved a source of frustration for the Robins, who have not lost since the opening game of the season.

However, after City finished eighth last season, Frank says he can see the Robins breaking into the play-offs this year.

He said: "It is impressive what they have done so far; they look extremely solid.

"They are unbeaten away from home.

"Last year they finished eighth so they must think about taking that step into the top six.

"I think they could be up there."

The Bees currently sit 14th in the Championship but have improved after a sluggish start to the season.

On Sunday, they recorded a 3-1 win over Barnsley thanks to a hat-trick from Ollie Watkins, a player Bristol City had previously looked into signing when the attacker was at Exeter City.

It means they are currently two games unbeaten, and Frank wants to see them build on this.

He said: "I am pleased with the performance on Sunday, the first 20 minutes wasn't top but if teams think in this league that you can go and batter teams for 90 minutes every single game they are wrong.

"Every teams wants momentum or this run of games where you feel you are on track.

"We want to do everything we can to continue but Bristol City also want to continue their unbeaten run.

"We have a big belief that we are getting closer and closer to the level that we can play at.

"We will only get more solid and better."
