Brendan Rodgers would take Arsenal job and his Celtic departure proves it claims Andy Gray

Former Rangers striker Andy Gray believes Brendan Rodgers would have no qualms about walking out on Leicester to join Arsenal - as he did the same to Celtic.

The Irishman has been touted as a potential replacement for Unai Emery , who was sacked by the Gunners yesterday.

Rodgers currently has the Foxes sitting second in the Premier League but Gray doesn't think that would stop him moving to the Emirates.

Gray said on BeIn Sports : "He left Celtic three months before they were about to complete a treble treble and thought nothing of that.

"Ron Atkinson said it once to me when I was his assistant: 'if you ever get to go into management, Andy, if you get a chance to better yourself, if a bigger club comes in for you, take it'.

"It doesn't matter where Leicester are now - are Arsenal a bigger club than Leicester? Yes.

"So I think if Arsenal really wanted Brendan Rodgers , and I'm not saying they do, but if they really wanted Brendan Rodgers I think it would be a massive snub for him to turn it down.

"Sometimes these jobs only come up once.

"A club like Arsenal - it's a giant of a club. Not just in British football but in world football.

"It's run brilliantly, it's classy, it's got a wonderful stadium and beautiful training ground.

"Everything is there for someone to take it on from Arsene (Wenger). They're just having the problem (Manchester) United had after Fergie: no-one could pick it up and run with it again.

"Arsenal have had that same problem since Arsene left."
