Brendan Rodgers tipped for Manchester United job as former Celtic boss backed to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is joint favourite to become the next Manchester United boss - less than three years after leaving Parkhead.

The Northern Irishman is just 4/1 with BetVictor alongside ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss and current PSG gaffer Mauricio Pochettino.

Rodgers turned the heat up on current Old Trafford manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after leading Leicester City to a 4-2 win in the English Premier League at the weekend.

And now the Foxes boss could succeed the Norwegian if the former Red Devils striker is given the chop at Manchester United.

Rodgers was also heavily linked with the Newcastle United job as the club’s new Saudi owners get set to sack Steve Bruce.

But quizzed on that the ex-Hoops gaffer, who won the FA Cup with Leicester City last season, said: “I have got a contract until 2025, I absolutely love being here.

"I'm very fortunate. I’ve got a great chief executive and a director of football who I have a close relationship with and a group of players that I really enjoy working with.”

However, Celtic fans will recall Rodgers making similar positive noises throughout his time at Parkhead before a sudden departure for the Midlands in 2019.

Italian Antonio Conte is third favourite with French legend and former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane next in the betting.
