Brendan Rodgers has long chased Ademola Lookman and finally got to celebrate securing his services - revealing how close he was to landing the winger at Celtic.
Leicester City have brought the English wide man in on loan from RB Leipzig until the end of the season.
The deadline day move has delighted Foxes boss Rodgers as his side, once again, look to compete at the top end of the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's clash against Manchester City, former Parkhead Treble-winning gaffer Rodgers let slip just how close the Bhoys were to bringing 23-year-old Lookman to the Scottish Premiership right at the start of his career.
"I’m really excited about working with Ade. He’s a top talent," Rodgers said of the former Charlton, Everton and Fulham man, who has 11 U21 caps for England.
"I wanted to take him to Celtic when he was at Charlton. I was aware of him when he was 15.
"He has all the tools, he has a great dribbling ability, how he views the game, he has an eye for a goal.
"My hope is that this environment will give him a chance to flourish. Hopefully he can find a home here. I have no doubt the supporters will be excited by him."
