Brendan Rodgers has criticised the “poor” performance of referee Andy Madley after his Leicester side were knocked out the Carabao Cup by Liverpool.
The Reds were 3-1 down at half-time but fought back through goals from Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino before winning the tie on penalties 5-4.
Rodgers was unhappy, in particular, with a challenge from Tyler Morton on Ricardo Pereira that earned the Liverpool teenager a yellow card.

And the former Reds manager was disappointed with the overall display of the official as his side were eliminated from the competition.
“It was a poor challenge but I thought the referee was poor all night,” Rodgers said.
“There were bookings that should have gone in the first half, Madders (James Maddison) is away and if he is away he makes the pass and then we are through into the dangerous position.
“It was Jordan Henderson who was clever and took the foul, but there was no yellow card.
“In the second half he was given a yellow card for not a great deal. I thought the referee was poor.”

Rodgers added: “You saw in the second half the injuries we picked up, we had to change the structure of the team.
“First half we were excellent and looked a real threat. To come to Anfield and score three goals, we really should have got four or five.
“We were a real threat in the game. Defensively you know you are going to have to suffer at times with the quality they have.
“In the second half we threw everything at it and it just looked at the end we were going to get through.
“To concede in the 95th minute it was so disappointed for the players, they put so much into the game.”
