Brendan Rodgers sends transfer warning to Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp

Brendan Rodgers has issued a hands-off warning to Liverpool and other Premier League clubs eyeing up a move for their star players this summer, insisting that the Foxes “don’t have to sell."

Liverpool have been linked with a move for midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer as they seek a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum who departed Anfield in June.

And whilst Leicester have a history of selling some of their key players - Riyad Mahrez, Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell - Rodgers has insisted that his current group of players are not looking to move away from the King Power this summer.

“In conversations with the club, we don’t have to sell,” Rodgers said. “That’s something that’s been made clear.

“The players want to stay. It's a really exciting time at the club.

“There’s lots of gossip and speculation around but I’m loving working with the guys here, they love being here, and we certainly have no need to sell. So I would suspect we’re looking to keep our best players.”

The Foxes missed out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season.

Many have spent the summer speculating if the disappointment of missing out on a place in Europe's premier competition could fuel some of the club's stars to seek a move elsewhere, with Tielemans being frequently linked with a move to Anfield.
