Brendan Rodgers pinpoints Leicester City's 'problem' ahead of Leeds United clash

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has pinpointed where his side must improve ahead of their clash with Leeds United this weekend.

The Foxes were held to a 1-1 draw in their latest Europa League group encounter with Russian outfit Spartak Moscow.

After falling behind early in the second half due to Victor Moses’ opener, Leicester responded just seven minutes later through Daniel Amartey, but failed to find that elusive winning goal.

It was another frustrating night for Rodgers’ side in Europe and they currently sit third in their group with just one win from their first four matches.

The draw also means that Leicester have not kept a clean sheet since their Carabao Cup victory over Millwall in September, which is also their only one since the 1-0 opening day victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And manager Rodgers has pinpointed the issue in defence that he thinks is costing his side at the moment, as he looks to prepare for their trip to Leeds on Sunday.

As quoted by Leicester Live, he said: “In the main we defended well in the moments we had to, we have a problem at the moment with tracking runners.

“Our recovery runs into the box are not at the level we would like. That's something that we need to fix. We need to run quicker back to our own goal, that's very important.”

Opponents Leeds, though, have also experienced similar troubles at the back so far this season, keeping just three clean sheets in all competitions, with only one of those coming in the Premier League in the win over Watford.
