Brendan Rodgers makes unwelcome Celtic return as fans slate Monopoly gaffe

Imagine presenting the Celtic fan in your life with the club's official Monopoly game only to watch their face recoil in horror upon opening it.

Are there pieces missing? Is the board broken? Is it actually Rangers-themed?

No, there's an image in the bottom corner of perhaps the least popular figure in the support's collective conscience these days - Brendan Rodgers .

Celtic launched the Hoops' very own version of the classic board game on Wednesday but it didn't go quite as well as they would've hoped.

Available at £35, it features nods to a host of legends and the opportunity for supporters to "tour the unique history of Celtic FC".

Yes, Rodgers is undeniably a huge part of the club's history but the manner of his February exit to Leicester City has left a rather painful wound.

In time, who knows how he will be regarded but including him on things such as this, were fans are asked to part with a decent sum of cash, is possibly a case of "too soon, Celtic, too soon".

Or perhaps they did know what they were doing, given Rodgers is conveniently placed right next to the "Go to Jail" square.

Predictably, after one supporter spotted the inclusion, the reaction from users on Twitter was predictably colourful.

In a nod to Mark McGhee's famous quote, @CelticRetro1888 said: "Is that allowed? Get that tae..."

@aidan_celtic said: "Celtic you really know how to get on my bad side"

@Juiceboax asked: "Can ye buy Marvin Compper?"

@matthew_lickey politely enquired: "Can the box play right back?"

@andymcnamara88 added: "Away take yer face for a s***e"
