Brendan Rodgers makes Adam Lallana claim after Leicester City linked with Liverpool midfielder

Brendan Rodgers has dismissed reports suggesting Leicester City have made a move for Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.

Lallana, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season and will depart Anfield after six years on Merseyside.

"I’ve seen a lot of stuff around Adam and that we’ve approached Liverpool, which isn’t the case," Foxes manager Rodgers said.

"He’s at the stage of his contract where he will have options."

Rodgers has already labelled Lallana 'top-class' earlier this month, saying: "Adam is a fantastic player and one I brought into Liverpool.

"I have been aware of his talents since he was a young player at Southampton.

"He has done brilliantly [at Liverpool] and I'm sure he will be weighing up his options.

"But I don't need to speak about that now. We've spoken about that all through January. I don't need to speak about the summer transfer window.

"I would only add he is a top-class player."
