Brendan Rodgers Leicester exit draws 'something wasn't right' confession amid fresh Tottenham swirls

Leading pundit Jamie Redknapp believes there was an inevitability about Brendan Rodgers' exit from Leicester City.

And the Sky Sports regular reckons something was off at the King Power Stadium after the Northern Irishman's season to forget resulted in him paying with his job after the Foxes dropped into the relegation zone. Rodgers' time came to and end on Sunday after defeat to Crystal Palace left Leicester facing the very real prospect of being relegated.

And Redknapp knows the ending was coming but is backing Rodgers to come again. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "Inevitable is probably the right word, he hasn't had that spark this season, earlier in the year they had a run of bad results and he just felt he hadn't got the funds he would have liked. Something wasn't right there.

"I'm a big fan of Brendan, he's a top manager and no doubt he will be getting back into football very quickly, they have looked at it and the predicament they are in and it just shows you how crazy football is."

And a host of pundits –including talkSPORT's Alex Crook – who believe Tottenham retain an interest in the former Celtic boss amid their own vacancy. Rodgers has been strongly linked with North London in the past.
