Brendan Rodgers disappointment Jurgen Klopp must not repeat at Liverpool

For the first time in Jurgen Klopp's incredible reign at Anfield, Liverpol have lost consecutive Premier League matches.

Indeed, in no time since the German arrived in October 2015 had the Reds faced back-to-back defeats in the top flight - until being beaten by Brighton and Manchester City in their last two matches.

The last time the champions were subject to two defeats in a row was back in August to September 2015 under Brendan Rodgers, when West Ham won at Anfield 3-0 before Liverpool went to Old Trafford and lost 3-1.

They've not lost three in a row since November 2014 when Rodgers was also manager and Newcastle, Chelsea and Crystal Palace all claimed consecutive domestic victories against the Reds.

Now, Klopp will be looking for a response from his side when they take on Leicester City under Rodgers on Saturday at the King Power Stadium.

It is important the Reds focus on finding their form and returning to winning ways in order to secure a top four spot by the end of the season and get one over on their closest rivals in the table.

Positively, the Foxes have lost 16 of their last 20 Premier League games against reigning champions (W2 D2), keeping just one clean sheet in that run. However, they have won two of their last four such games at home (L2), beating Chelsea in 2015/16 and Man City in 2018/19.

Leicester have also lost their last three home Premier League games against Liverpool, their worst ever losing run in the league against the Reds.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have won 12 of their last 17 Premier League matches against Leicester (D3 L2), winning six of their last seven against the Foxes and so if omens and past results are anything to go by, Klopp could well be the happier of both manager's come full-time.
