Brendan Rodgers could do better Man Utd job than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says pundit

Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy thinks Brendan Rodgers is better equipped to turn around Manchester United than struggling boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian had a brilliant start at Old Trafford but this season has been a damp squib despite significant summer spending that included a world record fee for defender Harry Maguire.

After last night's drab 1-1 home draw with Arsenal , United sit 10th in the league after seven games.

Meanwhile Rodgers has electrified Leicester City since his February arrival, playing attractive, flowing football and sitting third in the table.

And Cundy feels Rodgers, having managed huge clubs in the past, could make a big impact if he was to move to Old Trafford.

He said on talkSPORT : "Clearly the (Man Utd) squad is not good enough but you see Brendan go in there and change Leicester. He's had an impact.

"Is Brendan the worst shout in the world for Manchester United ?

"Look at the job he's doing, look at how he's got everything he wants out of that Leicester team. They've bought into him.

"And Brendan has managed Celtic and Liverpool. If you can manage those two clubs and do a decent job, a really good job and obviously he was brilliant at Celtic. He came close to winning the Premier League at Liverpool.

"Are you telling me he couldn't do a better job than Ole right now? Because I tell you right now, he could."
