Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers insisted there is never a good time to play Liverpool despite the Premier League champions being struck by a succession of injuries.
The former Liverpool boss confirmed a double injury boost of his own ahead of the fixture and agreed with the notion to bring back five substitutes to Premier League fixtures.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are expected to miss a large portion of the campaign for Jurgen Klopp while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah will also be unavailable for the weekend.
Rodgers takes his side to Anfield on Sunday on a run of five consecutive victories in all competitions before the international break but has a theory that adversity could bring out the best in his opponents.
When asked if injury problems for Klopp give Leicester an advantage, Rodgers replied: "Not really. They’ve got top class players.
"We’ve seen it ourselves with our injuries that the players have come in and done really well - and that will be the same for them.
"It will be a really tough game."
The Northern Irishman revealed the trip to Anfield will come too soon for Ricardo Pereira, Wilfried Ndidi and Caglar Soyuncu but Timothy Castagne and Wesley Fofana are available.
"Liverpool is an incredible club, they’ve been Premier League champions and European champions," Rodgers continued. "They’re a top-level team. We know we have to be at our best to get a result.
“It’s an extremely difficult one. Even with players missing it’s still a squad of world-class players. You’re going to have to be aggressive when you’re defending and clinical in attack. You want to play the best and they have clearly been that."
Rodgers asserted he has not thought about a potential title challenge this season after a strong start but did agree with Klopp on his wish to reintroduce the five substitutes rule to the Premier League.
"As it has evolved and seeing the intensity of the games, and looking forward to it, I wouldn’t be against being able to use five subs," he added. "From a player management perspective, it would certainly benefit."
