The future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United manager remains the main talking point around the club during the international break.
Defeat to Manchester City last time out - United 's sixth loss in 12 games across all competitions - has further heightened the speculation as Solskjaer flew out to Norway earlier this week during the hiatus to domestic football.
The Manchester Evening News understands that Solskjaer's position remains safe for now and is expected to be in charge of the trip to Watford in 10 days' time. The club are unwilling to dismiss their manager without a suitable replacement lined up.
Here is a round-up of the latest rumours involving Solskjaer's future at the club.
The Athletic report that Solskjaer is in no immediate danger, though his future will remain a hot topic as the club's leadership team hold "regular talks" during the international break.
The same publication also polled their Manchester United-supporting subscribers on a variety of different topics, and the results are damning for both Solskjaer and the Glazers.
Of those polled, 69 per cent want Solskjaer sacked immediately and a staggering 91% of fans believe the manager is currently doing a "bad" or "terrible job".
However, only 25% believe the current malaise is down to him, with 65% laying the blame at the Glazers' door.
The Guardian echoed the MEN and Athletic, noting that the Norweigan is under increased pressure but expects to be in the away dugout at Vicarage Road on September 20.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano goes further by claiming there is interest in Leicester City's Brendan Rodgers, Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag of Ajax, but underlines that the board remain supportive of Solskjaer.
Romano adds that Zinedine Zidane is in no rush to return to management after leaving Real Madrid for the second time in the summer and Ralf Ragnick is "not a priority".
Christian Falk of German publication Bild claims that United have previously spoken to Ragnick, though does not specify when, and rejected the German amid concerns over his working style.
Spanish daily AS add on Zidane that it is "almost impossible" for him to become United manager as he is prioritising the France national team or, in a reality check, a club more capable of winning silverware.
Going slightly against the tide, The Sun claim it is only a matter of time before Solskjaer is sacked, with players and staff both expecting the manager to be gone sooner rather and later.
Meanwhile, CaughtOffside report that Rodgers has reached a "verbal agreement" to become manager, though his preference would be to take over in the summer rather than a mid-season move.
