Brendan Rodgers addresses transfer swirls over former star he hails 'top class player'

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has addressed reports he's set to swoop for Adam Lallana.

The Liverpool playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season and the Foxes have been credited with an interest.

Rodgers hailed the England international as a "top class" player but denied making an enquiry.

The former Celtic manager was reluctant to be drawn on potential summer transfer dealings, with Lallana free to speak to other clubs.

"I’ve seen a lot of stuff around Adam and that we’ve approached Liverpool, which isn’t the case," Rodgers said.

"He’s at the stage of his contract where he will have options.

"Adam is a fantastic player and one I brought into Liverpool.

"I have been aware of his talents since he was a young player at Southampton.

"He has done brilliantly (at Liverpool) and I'm sure he will be weighing up his options.

"But I don't need to speak about that now. We've spoken about that all through January. I don't need to speak about the summer transfer window.

"I would only add he is a top-class player."
