Brendan Rodgers addresses Adam Lallana transfer links with midfielder set to leave Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers believes Liverpool’s Adam Lallana will be "weighing up his options" as he prepares to leave the club this summer.

Lallana is set to become a free agent when his Anfield contract expires at the end of the season, bringing an end to his six year stay at the club.

The England international joined the Reds from Southampton in 2014 and despite a bright start to his career on Merseyside, in recent years he has found regular game time hard to come by.

The Foxes are reportedly one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in the 31-year-old, but Rodgers refused to be drawn on the possibility of a reunion with the midfielder.

“Adam’s a fantastic player,” Rodgers said at his weekly press conference via Leicester Live.

“He’s someone I brought into Liverpool and I’ve been aware of his talents since he was a young player at Southampton.

“He’s at the stage where he’s done brilliantly there and I’m sure he’ll be weighing up his options.

“For us, we don’t need to speak about that now. We spoke about it all through January, I don’t need to speak about the summer transfer window now.

“I’d only add that he’s a top-class player.”
