Brendan O'Carroll brushes off rumours he's 'killing off Mrs Brown'

Brendan O'Carroll has brushed off rumours he's preparing to kill off Mrs Brown.

The comedian, actor and writer has said he has no intention of bringing an end to his famed sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys - and especially not his own character.

The 64-year-old confirmed he'll still continue to play the foul-mouthed Dublin character as long as there's a demand for the show.

He said: "It's complete baloney. That's like asking a jockey if he's willing to shoot his horse.

"Mrs Brown has educated my kids, she's bought my home.

"I intend to keep writing the show for as long as people want it."

O'Carroll has played Agnes Brown in the TV series which has aired on both BBC and RTE since 2011.

He also oversaw it being brought to the big screen in 2014 for Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie.

And Mrs Brown's Boys D'Musical is set to tour next month with shows in Dublin, Belfast and Engalnd.

O'Carroll told the Star: "It's one of the funniest shows we've done.

"The idea that Agnes Brown can do a musical in itself is hilarious."
