Brendan Loughnane slams "total d***head" Chris Wade ahead of PFL clash

Brendan Loughnane is relishing the chance to fight Chris Wade in their PFL semi-final next month, insisting the American is a "total d***had".

Loughnane takes on Wade in the semi-finals of PFL's 2022 season on August 20 in London. It marks Loughnane's second semi-final having reached the same stage of last year's competition, with the Brit losing out to eventual tournament winner Movlid Khaybulaev. Wade reached last year's final and previously got through to the semi-finals in 2018 and 2019.

It's unfamiliar territory for Loughnane, who has usually been on good terms with most of his PFL opponents. The self-proclaimed 'MMA nomad' has slammed Wade for going public about his pay issues with PFL and claiming that all of the marbles are on Loughnane's side heading into their fight.

Can Brendan Loughnane become a PFL champion this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below

"Me and Chris Wade have been on a collision course for a while, I think he's a total d***head to be honest so I'm really looking forward to fighting him. He just has no respect for anybody," Loughnane told Mirror Fighting . "He's a proper jealous little c***, as soon as I signed for the PFL he had this weird little vibe when I first met him.

Wade claimed he is taking a $20,000 pay cut to fight in the semi-finals but Loughnane has told his rival to stop biting the hand that feeds him. Loughnane also took aim at the way Wade has reacted after his fights, such as not shaking Khaybulaev's hand when he lost to the Russian last year.

"He's biting the hand that feeds him," Loughnane added. "He's s****ng off PFL left right and centre but they pay our bills. That just shows how much of an idiot he is. He's proper hating and being jealous that others are making more money and noise than him. This is the kind of sportsman we are dealing with. He wouldn't even shake Movlid's hand when he beat him, he knocks out Kyle Bochniak and then starts screaming in his face? The guy's a total d***."

Despite Loughnane's disdain for his rival, the Mancunian has admitted that Wade is a skilled fighter who has the ability to cause him problems on August 20. "I am not taking away from the fact that Chris Wade is a good fighter because he is. He's skilled, he knows how to win and uses his chin as a defence, it's f****ng crazy he just walks forward eating shots," he said.
