Brendan Dolan sets up Gerwyn Price showdown as Steve Lennon bows out of World Darts Championship

Brendan Dolan has set up a showdown with tournament heavyweight Gerwyn Price after Steve Lennon was rueing missed chances tonight at Ally Pally in the World Darts Championship.

In the evening game, it was a tale of missed doubles a Steve Lennon was left shaking his head at the end of the first set after a deciding leg.

He missed an astonishing eight darts for the set as Peterson walked away with first blood - much to his surprise.

Poor finishing continued cost both players in the second set, but Peterson shaded the second after Lennon missed two darts to level it as the game looked to slip beyond him.

Devon Peterson missed seven match darts in a tail of double misses in a deciding set, but Lennon got back in it then with his seventh double in some 41 attempts.

Despite strong scoring, the game finished with over 70 missed doubles between both players as the South African cruised to the third round.

Earlier in the day, Brendan Dolan set up a last 32 tie with Gerwyn Price after Christmas after a win over Edward Foulkes.

The Fermanagh man had too much for his Japanese opponent and now faces the second favourite.

"He was very dangerous. I knew nothing about him bar his first-round game," Dolan told Sky Sports after his afternoon match. "I'd seen how well he had played.

"His finishing was brilliant against Mike de Decker and his scoring wasn't bad either.

"I knew if he felt a wee bit comfortable he could be an awesome player. It made me feel very uneasy up there for my first game, when he had already been up there."
