Brendan Cole takes a tumble as he gets serious about Dancing On Ice training

Brendan Cole struggled to stay on his feet as he trained for Dancing On Ice - but it didn't get him down.

Taking to the rink with his professional partner Vanessa Bauer, the former Strictly Come Dancing pro was seen taking a tumble.

Brendan, 45, was pictured on his knees and climbing back to his feet after falling over.

Dressed in dark jeans and a blue hoodie, Brendan was seen training at a London ice rink when he fell to the floor.

Brendan may have fallen to his knees, but he still had a big smile on his face as he saw the funny side.

Vanessa, wearing pink workout leggings and a matching top, also smiled as she skated over to his side.

The pair appeared to be practicing some tricky moves, with Brendan grabbing one of Vanessa's arms and legs to seemingly get in position for a dangerous lift.

No stranger to a waltz, Brendan appeared to be taking it all in his stride as he spun around on the ice and twirled Vanessa as he went.

And while he may have had a slight tumble, the important thing is that Brendan got right back on his feet with a smile on his face and continued on.

The show won't kick off until 2022, but Brendan is already working hard, perhaps hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow Strictly star James Jordan, who won DOI in 2019.

Yesterday, Brendan reposted a video Vanessa had shared of them tackling a tricky move together, spinning in unison and raising one leg in the air out behind them at a time.

He wrote: "Training going well. @vanessabauer_skates and I are pushing hard! Sneaky peak… @dancingonice #iceskating #dancingonice #figureskating"

" A dream to teach and partner," Vanessa commented on his post.

His fans were very excited.

One wrote: " Dream partnership. Cannot wait to see how you improve. Already looking like a pro!"

While another posted: "Beautiful smooth skating!!!"

The show starts next year (SplashNews.com)

Vanessa, who won the ITV show in 2018 with Jake Quickenden, is very excited to be paired with Brendan, who was a pro on Strictly for the first 15 series.

Sharing snaps of them together as they met on the ice, she penned: " Meet my new @dancingonice partner @brendancoleinsta !!

"We’re both incredibly excited about this new partnership and can’t wait to go above and beyond to hopefully deliver some magic on the ice for you!

"Let’s do this partner!!!"
