Brendan Cole and family takes first walk in six weeks as Spain eases lockdown rules

Brendan Cole and his family went for their first outing in six weeks after Spanish authorities began to ease strict lockdown measures.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 44, has been stuck at his holiday home in Mallorca alongside his wife Zoe and kids Aurelia, seven, and Dante, two.

Taking to social media, the professional dancer couldn't contain his excitement as the family stepped out of their home for the first time in six weeks on Sunday.

In the post, the doting dad looked on as his young kids dipped their feet in a cool running stream.

"First walk in 6 weeks outside of the gates with our wee people. What a beautiful thing to do on this beautiful island," he wrote.

The adorable family enjoyed the natural landscape that surrounded their lavish holiday home on the sunny Spanish island.

Brendan's wife Zoe also posted photographs from their outing on social media, as the cheerful family enjoyed their first taste of the outdoors after a strict stay at home order.

"And boy was it a good one!" she wrote about their family walk.

Brendan and his family have been holed up in Mallorca, Spain since mid-March.

Zoe - who has been married to Brendan for ten years - recently shared her experiences of the strict lockdown on social media.

At the start of April, Zoe said the family had struggled with confinement as they couldn't leave for anything other than getting food or medicine.

The country has maintained some of the strictest lockdown measures in place across the European continent as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, authorities began to lift the lockdown and have allowed for children under the age of 14 to go outside for one hour a day.

According to the country's health minister, on April 26 the country recorded the lowest number of deaths related to the virus since March 20.

Although the strict lockdown appeared to have been effective in stemming the spread of the virus, there have been 23,190 deaths in the country.
