Brendan Cole accuses Strictly of ripping off ideas from his show

Brendan Cole has accused Strictly Come Dancing bosses of ripping off ideas from his stage show.

The former Strictly pro, 43, was axed in 2018 after 15 years, and is currently competing in Celebrity X Factor .

Since leaving the show, Brendan has been touring his production of Show Man which features him showcasing his choreography along a cast of dancers and musicians.

He's now taken to Instagram to accuse BBC bosses of stealing concepts from his production.

In last night's episode of Strictly, EastEnders star Emma Barton was seen dancing a Viennese waltz to the tune of Send In The Clowns - and Brendan is convinced the idea was nicked from his show.

He shared a video of a routine set to Send In The Clowns from Show Man, and wrote: "I'm thinking my ideas are being lifted? #Strictly."

Brendan then urged fans to go to his website to watch his version of the routine.

Actress Emma danced to the tune with her partner Anton Du Beke, and wowed the judges.

Judge Bruno Tonioli said: "Your best dance yet...

"Apart from the dancing, what you did so beautifully was the interpretation of the character."

He admitted he had goose bumps from their beautiful performance.

Hard-to-please Craig Revel Horwood told the pair: "I thought it was classy, I thought it was super stylish."

Motsi praised Emma for being the "queen", and added: "That dance spoke for itself, I don't think you have to say so much about that dance, because it was just so beautiful - just so special."

They scored 35 in total for the routine.

Mirror Online has contacted a representative for Strictly for comment.
