Brenda Edwards makes social media return after son Jamal's death with heartbreaking post

Brenda Edwards has returned to social media, following the heartbreaking death of her son, Jamal Edwards.

The founder of SBTV's passing at the age of 31 was confirmed by the company on Sunday, after rumours and tributes had circulated on social media.

Loose Women presenter Brenda paid tribute to her inspirational son via a statement read out on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

Posting to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, the singer honoured her late son with an emotional profile picture change.

In the new image displayed on her profile, the former X Factor contestant can be seen beaming alongside her two children, daughter Tanisha and the late Jamal.

The touching snap shows the doting mum roaring with laughing between her kids, with Jamal also chuckling - with his heads in his hand.

"#NewProfilePic," Brenda simply captioned the update, also pinning it to the top of her profile.

Dionne Grant was one of many to reply to the star on her return to Twitter, writing: "Beautiful. Sending all my love to you and your family at this time."

One fan replied: "Sending all my love, Brenda. I can't imagine what you're going through right now. What a beautiful young man he was and what an massive impact he made on the world. Huge respect. Take good care."

The presenter and singer also shared images from the photoshoot on her Instagram page, captioning the two snaps with a love-heart emoji.

Prior to his heartbreaking death over the weekend, Jamal was regarded as a leading figure in the music and entertainment industry.

Many praised the late star for helping launch the careers of stars like Jessie J and Dave, as well as giving Ed Sheeran a platform when The A Team singer was first starting out.

Speaking on Monday, Brenda called his passing an "unimaginable loss".

"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness," the mum-of-two's emotional statement began.

"Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world."

She continued: "As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.

"Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."

Earlier this week, the doting mother sang a Whitney Houston song in front of hundreds of mourners at her son's vigil.

The heartbreaking moment was captured on camera as mum-of-two Brenda, sang The Greatest Love of All.

Friends and family were in tears as Brenda paid tribute to her only son at the candlelit service in Acton, West London.
