A man believed to be in his 20s was shot dead near a London Underground station last night.
London Ambulance Service were called to the scene near Wood Green underground station shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday where a man had been blasted in the latest horror on the streets of the nation's capital.
An air ambulance was despatched to reach the bloody scene as quickly as possible.
The victim died at the scene. He has not yet been named.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.28pm to reports of a shooting near Wood Green Underground Station, N22.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car and members of our tactical response unit. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

"Sadly, despite best efforts, a man died at the scene.”
A Met Police spokesperson added no arrests have yet been made and enquiries are ongoing.
They added: "Officers are in the process of notifying his next of kin.
"A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. A crime scene is in place and the road is closed to traffic."

The incident in Haringey comes little more than a week after a woman was shot in the back in Brockley, south-east London.

The operation has seen “Viper teams”, supported by armed officers, patrolling areas based on intelligence related to the transportation of guns.
Commander Dave McLaren, who leads the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, has said that the number of shootings in London has dropped over the last four years.
