Woman found dead in home minutes before man hit by train at London Tube station

A man who died after being hit by a train yesterday was known to a woman found dead in north London minutes before.

Met Police are investigating the two deaths but have not officially said they are linked at this stage.

Officers were called to an address in Brent at 12.07pm on Thursday following reports of a death at the property.

A woman in her 20s was found dead.

Twelve minutes later Met Police were informed by British Transport Police that a man had died on the underground at Green Park tube station after being hit by a train.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement this morning Scotland Yard said: "The man, aged in his 30s, was known to the woman found dead in [Brent]. Formal identification awaits.

"Enquiries into the full circumstances continue."

A statement from the British Transport Police said:“Officers were called to Green Park London Underground station at 12.16pm on Thursday, following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended, however a man was pronounced dead at the scene."

Met Police are in the process of informing the next of kin for the woman found dead.

A post-mortem will be held in due course and no cause of death has been given.
